Latvian National Library The new library will be a multi-functional culture and education centre, a depository of knowledge with access to state-of-the-art services. Alongside the construction of the new library building, a unified library information system, the so-called Network of Light, is to be created; it will link all Latvian public libraries into a single system providing for more efficient and effective information searches. |

Riga Concert Hall Construction of the new acoustic Concert Hall on the Daugava River jetty on the left bank is scheduled to begin soon. The Concert Hall and the National Library will be located in close proximity and thus will create a new group of cultural objects. |

Museum of Contemporary Art
At the new Museum of Contemporary Art, the exhibition space will take up an area of four thousand square meters; there will also be a conference hall, a cinema, a computerized information centre, a library and archives. Space will also be allocated for art education and workshops. |

The new staging of Richard Wagner’s “Des Ring der Niebelungen” in Latvian National Opera 2006-2009
A reflection of Richard Wagner’s youth is incomplete without mentioning his years in Riga. And the Latvian metropolis cannot call itself Wagner’s city unless the Latvian National Opera stages the most famous of the composer’s works. More than a century has passed since last full-blown staging of the Richard Wagner’s grand theatrical creation “Des Ring der Niebelungen” at the Riga Opera Theatre. Liepāja's new concert hall "Lielais Dzintars"
Musicians and employees of the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, as well as the denizens of Liepāja who enjoy attending concerts and other events, are living in expectation of the new concert hall. The construction job will get under way this fall, but the musicians expect to give their first concert in 2010. |

Memorial site on Krievkalns Islet
The Koknese Foundation is planning to create a memorial site dedicated to the victims of the totalitarian regime during the 20th century, and the site of the memorial shall be located amidst the Daugava River, near the Koknese Castle ruins and the Lutheran Church. |

Mark Rothko Art and Information Centre
The city hall of Daugavpils – the second largest city in Latvia, expects to create a centre of art and information, dedicated to the world famous artist Mark Rothko. The centre will be situated in the Arsenal building in the territory of the Daugavpils fortress - a historical monument. |
