Several scenes for German film "Das Blaue vom Himmel" being shot in Riga
March 14 to March 21, several scenes for the motion picture "Das Blaue vom Himmel", produced by the German company "Die Film gmbh", are being shot in Riga in cooperation with the Latvian company "Film Angels Studio".

 
JRT to feature two new productions directed by Alvis Hermanis

March 6-18, the Latvian Composers’ Union has once again organized "Latvian New Music Days", which this year offers a conceptually unified, interrelated concert program, a fusion of various art forms.

 
13,000 viewers have watched Latvian films at public libraries since February 2009
Latvian films at the public library portal "www.filmas.lv" have been seen by about 13,000 viewers the past twelve months, of which a half or 6,500 saw the entire film that they chose to watch.

Exposition "Painted in Normandy" to be shown in Riga
The Latvian National Museum of Art continues its cooperation with France in presenting noteworthy art projects. From January 23 to March 21, the opportunity to view a major Impressionism exposition for the first time in Riga - “Peindre en Normandie”.

 
New York Philharmonic and Birmingham Symphony Orchestra to perform in Riga in 2010
The world-famous symphony orchestra New York Philharmonic will perform in Riga on November 2 next year; at the end of the same month the capital of Latvia will host a concert by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Latvian Andris Nelsons.
